Gloo Launches AI Licensing Platform for Values-Based Content Creators
Gloo, a technology platform serving the faith ecosystem, has introduced the Gloo AI Licensing platform to help values-based content creators control and monetize their intellectual property in the AI era. This platform ensures ethical use and fair compensation for content utilized in AI applications, including model training, chatbots, apps, and robotics. To support this initiative, Gloo has established a $5 million pooled guarantee, providing immediate and transparent payouts to publishers.
The Gloo AI Licensing platform employs advanced Digital Rights Management to secure publishers’ content, enhancing discoverability through AI-powered tagging while granting creators full control over distribution. Publishers can set specific permissions for AI training, manage content access levels, and monitor usage to ensure appropriate compensation. This initiative aligns with Gloo’s broader efforts, including the Gloo Open open-source AI platform and the AI Trust Standards, which assess AI models based on their promotion of human flourishing across seven dimensions.
Prominent investors backing Gloo include HL Investments, Thrivent, GuideStone Financial Services, and Pat Gelsinger, former Intel CEO and current chairman of Gloo. Gloo is also an official industry partner of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, collaborating with major Christian publishers such as HarperCollins Christian and Christianity Today.
Pat Gelsinger emphasized the platform’s significance, stating, “Just as iTunes revolutionized compensation for musicians, Gloo is creating a sustainable model to ensure creators of values-based content can thrive in the AI era.” Steele Billings, Gloo’s chief AI officer, highlighted the importance of preserving human-generated content, noting that the platform enables organizations with strong moral and ethical foundations to continue driving spiritual growth, mental health support, and other forms of human flourishing in a trustworthy and sustainable manner.
Howard Rachinski, founder of Christian Copyright Licensing International and a key advisor for the platform, drew parallels to past challenges faced by content creators, stating, “Publishers and content creators are facing an existential moment, while AI companies need access to ethically curated content. The licensing solution bridges this gap, creating new distribution channels and compensation models to ensure values-based content continues to be created at scale.”
Brian Mosley, president of RightNow Media, expressed support for the platform, emphasizing its role in empowering content creators to reach broader audiences without compromising their work’s integrity. Gloo AI Licensing complements Gloo’s existing services for content creators, which include printing, binding, fulfillment, and a media and advertising network designed to expand distribution and advertising opportunities across both B2B and B2C audiences.
