Gloo Acquires AI Faith Assistant to Transform Church Outreach
Gloo, a prominent technology platform serving the Christian faith community, has announced its acquisition of Faith Assistant, an AI-powered tool formerly branded as Bible Chat. Faith Assistant offers churches and ministries the ability to create custom AI models, enabling 24/7 personalized engagement through conversation-based interactions. The tool supports a wide range of organizations, including churches, parachurch groups, publishers, and seminaries, by connecting users to staff and volunteers, providing relevant resources, and enhancing community connections.
Steele Billings, Gloo’s Chief AI Officer, praised Faith Assistant’s innovative approach during its participation in Gloo’s AI Hackathon. He emphasized that the tool allows ministries to retain full control over their content while delivering tailored solutions to their communities. Faith Assistant co-founder Chase Cappo highlighted the potential of the partnership with Gloo, stating that it enables more ministries to leverage unique AI strategies for their mission.
Faith Assistant has already gained traction with users such as the Luis Palau Association, Concordia Church, and KCBI Radio. Emily Haring Thevarajoo of KCBI Radio noted that the platform offers 24/7 support, helping her team better understand and address audience needs through detailed analytics.
Under Gloo’s umbrella, Faith Assistant will introduce a free tier for churches to train AI models using their own sermons and content. Advanced features will be available through the Gloo+ membership, while enterprise options will cater to larger organizations. This acquisition aligns with Gloo’s broader mission to provide tools and resources to over 90,000 churches worldwide.
With a recent $110 million investment from faith-aligned partners, Gloo aims to lead innovation in faith-based technology, ensuring AI supports, rather than replaces, human relationships. This partnership highlights Gloo’s commitment to empowering the Church to embrace technology responsibly and effectively.
