This Christmas season, the Light the World Giving Machines are returning to Australia and New Zealand, offering a unique way for individuals to give back to their communities. As part of a worldwide initiative by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these machines allow people to donate items directly to local charities. Much like a vending machine, the Giving Machines display donation cards for essential items and services, such as medical care, hygiene supplies, school materials, and food. One hundred percent of each donation goes directly to the selected cause, ensuring that all contributions make a meaningful impact.
This year, Giving Machines will be available in several locations across New Zealand and Australia. In New Zealand, they will be set up at Westfield Manukau in Auckland, Riccarton Westfield Mall in Christchurch, Queensgate Mall in Wellington, and Chartwell Mall in Hamilton. Australian locations include Logan Hyperdome in Brisbane, Canberra Centre in Canberra, Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne, Castle Towers in Sydney, and Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre in Perth. Each location will host the machines at specific dates from November through December.
The initiative is supported by local ambassadors, including Dave Letele, founder of BBM Motivation, and Australian TV presenter Jemma Barge. Letele highlighted the Giving Machines as a meaningful way to give back, emphasizing their community-centered mission.
For those looking to serve and make a difference this Christmas, the Light the World Giving Machines provide an accessible, impactful way to support local charities and uplift lives. More details on the initiative, as well as information on additional Giving Machine locations worldwide, are available on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Newsroom Pacific site.
